2023 Partners in Education

Dear Friend of Conservation:

2023 has been a year full of reminders of the importance and value of the work that the Foundation supports. The challenges of climate change combined with new legislation means that our campaign this year for Partners in Education is even more critical in ensuring that funding exists for education programs and land acquisition.

We value and acknowledge the support that generous donors, like yourself, have provided over the many years. The vision by members of our community in 1964 was to create Cataraqui Conservation in order to protect and ensure the legacy of greenspaces in our community.

Part of their vision included the foresight to see that education programs were essential to ensure that future generations understood and appreciated the importance of nature and preserving it. Cataraqui Conservation provides these immersive learning experiences through the Nature Explorer Camps, school visits, and curriculum-based education programs. Each year, more than 7,000 area students, as well as early learners and pre-schoolers, come to Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area and the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area.

Conservation education programs bring a love of nature and the importance of conserving the environment to thousands of area students each year, instilling in them values that will last a lifetime.

Through your ongoing support, we are very fortunate to continue offering the children in our community such an amazing opportunity. Just last year your donation, among other things, helped purchase snowshoes for the education program.

Our work of continuing this commitment over the past decades could not have happened without you and next year we will join with Cataraqui Conservation in celebrating 60 years of conservation in our community! We look forward to creating events for you to join us as we celebrate this milestone!

We understand and appreciate that things are tough for many families and organizations, but rest assured every little bit helps us in our mission. Please see the contribution form enclosed or make your donation on our secure web site at www.cataraquiconservationfoundation.com/get-involved.

There are many ways to give. Perhaps consider the option of providing ongoing support with a monthly donation, joining our board or reaching out to volunteer for one of our community fundraisers. Please contact us on our website if you are interested. Together, we can continue the work of the Foundation in preserving our environment and securing our future.

Yours truly,

Carol Murphy

President, Cataraqui Conservation Foundation
